LABORATORY 4 | “Acoustaphysics”

IAPP NAS RA

The laboratory conducts research on the interaction of acoustic waves with plasma, as well as solving incorrectly posed inverse problems in acoustoplasma using catastrophe theory. As a result of these studies, a new state of plasma was discovered, which was proposed to be called the acoustoplasmic state, because the parameters of the plasma in that state are significantly different from the parameters of the unexcited plasma. Works dedicated to the study of acoustoplasmic phenomena, the creation of new light sources, as well as applied work related to acoustoplasmic magnetrons in the synthesis of new compounds and materials for micro and nanotechnology (including solar cells, new sensors, etc.) are carried out. New solar cells are being developed in cooperation with other departments of the institute.

ACOUSTAPLASMA GROUP

This group conducts research dedicated to identifying the features of acoustoplasmic phenomena. This direction has been the main activity of the laboratory in recent years. In particular, the discovery of new possibilities of acoustoplasma applications, the development and creation of new devices based on this phenomenon, including particularly power sources with certain parameters.

SEISMIC GROUP

This group was founded in 2022 and the main objective of its further establishment and activity is the studying in cooperation with other departments of the institute and other organizations the possibility, effectiveness and feasibility of creation of an earthauake erly warning and protection integrated network system for anti-seismic early warning and protection of industrial, transport, energy and other strategic facilities in the RA with the processing and identification of boundary seismic processes, broadcasting of early warning signals and remote control of the system, as well as the designing of a corresponding system and the determination of parameters of its individual elements with their selection from existing ones and possible designing of some of them, clarification of their locations and conditions, and so on.
